Terms of Service

Welcome to ShipID. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of ShipID (“we”, “us”, or “our”), including our website at shipid.in, studio dashboard, APIs, and embeddable widget scripts.

1Acceptance of Terms

By registering an account, claiming a handle, embedding our script on your website, or otherwise using ShipID, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all terms and conditions, do not use our services.

2Account Registration & Google Sign-In

To access certain features of ShipID, such as claiming a maker handle and configuring your portfolio widget, you must authenticate through our supported login methods (including Google OAuth / Clerk).

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized access.

3Acceptable Use & Community Guidelines

ShipID is built for creators, indie hackers, and SaaS developers. You agree not to misuse the service. You may not:

  • Squat on or claim trademarked handles, company names, or identities that you do not own or represent.
  • Link to or promote illegal, fraudulent, malware-infected, phishing, or harmful software products.
  • Reverse engineer, abuse, or send automated spam requests to our public API or script delivery endpoints.
  • Inject malicious scripts, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with the normal operation of our widget on visitor browsers.
  • Use the platform to distribute hate speech, harassment, or unauthorized commercial spam.

4User Content & Connected Products

You retain full ownership of all text, logos, screenshots, URLs, and product information that you post or link on your ShipID profile (“User Content”).

By publishing products on ShipID, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, displaying, and promoting your public maker profile and widget badges.

5Subscriptions, Payments & Pro Perks

ShipID provides free tier functionality as well as optional paid “Pro” subscriptions that unlock premium capabilities (e.g., unlimited product listings, custom colors, broadcast announcements).

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis via our Merchant of Record partner (Dodo Payments).
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via the /billing page. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Refunds, if applicable, are governed by our payment processor’s standard policies.

6Intellectual Property

The ShipID name, logo, visual branding, website layout, and proprietary widget code are owned by ShipID and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may embed the official widget.js script on websites you own or manage in accordance with our documentation.

7Service Availability & Modifications

We continually improve ShipID and reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice. While we strive for high uptime and fast CDN script delivery, we do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

8Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to ShipID immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in fraudulent, harmful, or abusive behavior. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team.

9Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Services Provided “As Is”

ShipID and all related scripts, widgets, and materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShipID and its maintainers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, traffic, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the service.
