Privacy Policy
ShipID is an identity and product distribution platform built for indie hackers, micro-SaaS builders, and software developers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, process, and protect your information when you use our website, developer studio, and embeddable badges.
1Overview & Purpose
ShipID provides tools for software creators to showcase their portfolio of products under a single verified maker identity and cross-pollinate traffic between their websites via a lightweight script widget. We believe in minimal, transparent data collection necessary only to provide, secure, and improve our services.
2Information We Collect
A. Account & Authentication Information
When you sign up or log in, we collect basic profile details such as your name, email address, username/handle, and avatar image.
Google OAuthGoogle Sign-In & Authentication Data
If you choose to register or sign in using your Google account via our authentication provider (Clerk), we access and store your Google email address, verified account name, and profile picture URL. This Google account data is used strictly for authentication, account creation, preventing duplicate registrations, and populating your public maker profile identity. We do not request or access your Google Drive, contacts, calendar, emails, or any other private Google service data.
B. Connected Product Information
When you configure your maker profile in the ShipID Studio, you may provide product names, product URLs, descriptions, launch status badges, and social links (such as X/Twitter, GitHub, or LinkedIn). This information is made publicly viewable on your public profile page (shipid.in/u/[handle]) and through your embeddable widget.
C. Widget Telemetry & Usage Analytics
To measure badge impressions and traffic cross-pollination across your products, we record aggregate, non-personally identifiable telemetry (such as total impressions, badge expand counts, and outbound product clicks). We do not build cross-site behavioral tracking profiles on your website visitors.
D. Cookies & Local Storage
We use essential session tokens and local storage strictly to maintain your authenticated login state in the studio and to remember your local dashboard preferences (such as theme selector previews). We do not place third-party advertising cookies.
3How We Use Your Information
- To create, authenticate, and manage your ShipID maker profile and namespace handle.
- To render your embeddable widget (widget.js) and public maker passport card.
- To provide customer support, respond to inquiries, and communicate service announcements.
- To process subscription payments and invoices through our merchant of record payment gateway.
- To prevent abuse, bot registrations, fraudulent claims, and ensure platform security.
4Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on standard, trusted third-party infrastructure providers to run ShipID:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third-party data brokers or advertisers.
5Data Storage & Security
We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all web traffic and API endpoints. User authentication and credential verification are managed by Clerk, ensuring passwords and sensitive OAuth tokens are not stored directly in plaintext on our servers. While we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
6Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account and product information as long as your account remains active. You may edit or remove connected products at any time through your dashboard. If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated profile data, you can submit a deletion request to support.dhairyadarji@gmail.com or via our support desk, and we will process the request promptly.
7Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA/CPRA) to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at our designated support email below.
8Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product enhancements or changes in legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of ShipID after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
